Introducing Our New Artistic Director – Shaun Gibbons
The Middletown Community Chorus is very pleased to announce that Shaun Gibbons is our new Artistic Director!

Shaun Gibbons (he/him/his) is an educator, conductor, and tenor originally from Sayville, New York. Shaun received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Delaware and recently completed his Master’s in Choral Conducting from Georgia State University. At Georgia State, Shaun served as assistant conductor to a variety of choirs, including GSU’s Repertory Singers, Tenor Bass Choir, and Choral Union. Outside of his curricular conducting, Shaun worked with the choirs from Holy Trinity Parish in Decatur, GA. In addition to his conducting, Shaun has experience singing in various solo and ensemble settings, including art songs, opera, oratorio, musical theatre, popular music, and many educational and professional choral settings. Shaun frequently performs with the Delaware Choral Scholars on their international tours to destinations such as Europe and Oceania. In the fall of 2026, Shaun will begin as High School Choral Director at Odessa High School in Delaware. In his free time, Shaun enjoys drinking cortados at local coffee shops, playing video games, hanging out with friends, and seeking new experiences around the globe.
Shaun is thrilled to join the community at Middletown Community Chorus as Artistic Director for the 2026-27 season and cannot wait to get started!
Joining MCC and Rehearsal Information
MCC welcomes adult and high school singers (grades 9-12) at all levels of ability and experience! We are a friendly, no stress, group of SATB singers and a no-audition chorus. If you are interested in singing with us, please fill out the Contact Form below and come to rehearsal! Rehearsals are Thursday evenings, 7-9pm. We will publicize our Fall 2027 start date in the second half of July.
We are currently rehearsing at St Paul’s United Methodist Church in Odessa (406 Main St) – there is parking behind the church, at the state police station next door, and street parking in front. The accessible entrance is at the front.
Dues for the 2025/2026 season were $50/adult per semester; $20/student (high school or college) per semester. There are two semesters in the season. We have not yet set our dues for the 026/2027 season but regardless we don’t want people to be unable to sing for financial reasons, so if the dues present a hardship, we offer scholarship support and payment plans. You can pay for your dues on the Members Dues page, or at rehearsal (cash, check made out to Middletown Community Chorus or MCC, or card).
Music will be provided (you will not have to pay for it). There will be an option to purchase for those who like to own the scores.
